Why The Name, Walter’s Place?
Why the name, Walter’s Place? We get asked this often and love telling the story behind the name.
Walter Draycott was one of Lynn Valley’s first pioneers. Passionate about the community, the World War I veteran made it his home for 73 years. He served as Justice of the Peace and local historian, conducted nature hikes for students and Boy Scouts, and was named Lynn Valley’s Good Citizen of the Year in 1974. Upon discovering Lynn Valley in 1912, Walter Draycott knew he has found a heaven on earth, The same holds true for Walter’s Place, a unique community named in honor of the visionary pioneer.
Walter’s Place is situated on Draycott Road, which was named after Walter years ago, we’re happy to honor him. Find out more about Walter Draycott and the Lynn Valley Community by clicking HERE
